The role of the university in the 21st Century- English & International Communication Skills for Tertiary Education

Who is it for

This one-week group course will focus on university internationalisation. It is designed for lecturers, researchers and teaching staff at universities and other institutions of higher education working on degree programmes and academic research who are non-native speakers of English.

Minimum language level for this course is Intermediate /  B1. Maximum group size is six.

Course Details

Methodology

An interactive discussion-based  approach forms the basis of this course. Input sessions involve brainstorming, case study analysis, problem solving and simulation.

Participants will work on a small research project of their choice during the week which involves making contact in advance with a local specialist in that field and presenting their main project findings at the end of the week. They will also be expected to share in leading discussions and leading on certain course components followed by communication feedback from the trainer.

This course will also provide an opportunity to meet and discuss with academics from the University of Malta.

Academics who have already attended a tertiary training course at ETI will find this a useful follow-up to that course although participation is not restricted only to these.
